ABOUT

Penn State Altoona Brazilian Ju-Jitsu

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art and combat sport that contains stand up maneuvers but is most famous for its ground techniques. Our club focuses on BJJ as a sport and as a self-defense mechanism. We accept students with NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE. We will teach you all of the basics needed to practice BJJ. By joining the BJJ club you will learn how to defend yourself and become physically fit while doing so. BJJ also provides stress relief, a social environment, and discipline that can carry over into other aspects of your life

Formed in Spring 2012, the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Club meets several times a week to practice this particular form of martial arts. The club teaches both sport and self-defense aspects of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The club is open to anyone that is interested in learning or expanding their knowledge in the sport.
